Finally ejected the builders from the house on Thursday, the day Esther was arriving home. They've still got some finishing off to do but we needed to get the tree up. When Esther got back from Edinburgh, we had a fun time decorating it and the rest of the house so it looked all nice and twinkly. Shame we couldn't find the external lights but at least inside is good.
Went to the local butcher, Mr Crump, of Ashwell and spend an entertaining 20 mins with about 10 other people squeezed in to pick up turkeys, meat and cheese from his fantastic range. The meat hung from the ceiling was dripping a little which gave the entire experience a rather odd feel and made queueing rather interesting and kind of curvey.
Went shopping in Cambridge to really enjoy the Christmas spirit on the last Saturday before Xmas. No problems at all. Didn't seem any more crowded than a normal Saturday although by the time we left at about 1pm, it did seem to be hotting up. Just love Christmas and all its experiences.
Now looking forward to Christmas the day after tomorrow. I can't sleep just now, but that's due more to that terrible ailment, snoring, that aflicts men but that women actually suffer from.
